The notification bar
The bar at the foot of the home screen, its cloud icon and its short messages.
A thin bar along the bottom of the home screen tells you whether the phone is online and shows short messages as things happen. It never needs you to tap anything.
Where it is
The bar sits at the foot of the home screen, and of the sign-in and PIN screens. Other screens do not have it.
Most of the time it shows the copyright line. On the right is a small cloud:
| Cloud | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | The phone is online |
| Red | The phone is offline. What you do is kept on the phone and sent later |
Messages you may see
Now and then the copyright line is replaced for a moment by a message, such as:
- Device is OFFLINE - the connection has dropped.
- Device is online - it is back.
- Saving purchase order - something you saved is being sent.
- Version and a number - which version of the app you are running, useful if the office asks.
The message clears by itself after a few seconds.
What the bar does not show
It is not a sync log. It will not tell you that a particular form or timesheet entry has reached the office. Each screen tells you that itself - for example, a timesheet entry that could not be sent says so on the Time Sheet screen. See Troubleshoot stuck submissions.
