Docs Setup Setting up a new company

Setting up a new company

The steps that take a new company from signing up to its team working in Tradie.

Last updated 28 Oct 2026

Overview

This guide is the checklist for getting a new company running on Tradie On The Move. It is written for the company’s own administrator and for the reseller or Tradie contact helping them. Work through it in order: each stage relies on the one before it.

The Tradie Setup Wizard in the Scheduler, listing the setup tasks with an Open button beside each
Stage 3 happens in the Scheduler's Setup Wizard, which lists the tasks and opens each one.

Who does what

  • Your Tradie contact or reseller creates your company and connects it to Infusion. Connecting Infusion Elite needs access to the server Infusion runs on.
  • Your administrator sets up the company in the Scheduler: users, products, labour codes and the rest of the Setup Wizard.
  • Your office staff and technicians come in once the setup is done.

Resellers: the Reseller checklist puts the same steps on one page, with what to collect from the customer first.

The stages

1. Provision your business

Provision your business covers what your Tradie contact sets up for you, and how you log in to the Scheduler and the Mobile app the first time.

2. Connect your Infusion system

Tradie reads your customers, jobs and products from Infusion, and posts time, materials and notes back. Which guide you follow depends on your version of Infusion:

3. Work through the Setup Wizard

The Scheduler’s Setup Wizard opens by itself for an administrator. It lists ten tasks, in this order, and each one opens the screen it needs:

#TaskWhat it does
1Register Company InfoYour name, address and logo, and the live connection to your accounting system
2Import ProductsBring your product list in, and choose which of it your team can use
3Setup Labour CodesThe codes a team member picks when they log time
4Create UsersOne record per person, and the Infusion staff member they map to
5Register Plant/EquipmentWhich products are bookable on the calendar beside a person
6Import Job StatusesThe states a job moves through - your workflow
7Import CustomersWho you work for, synced from your accounting system
8Import SuppliersWho you buy from, for purchase orders
9Review Health and Safety HazardsThe hazard register behind every on-site questionnaire
10Review Health and Safety ControlsThe controls offered against those hazards

The wizard is the shortest path through the essentials. It is not everything you can set up - see every screen, and what it is for below.

4. Choose your company settings

A few settings change what your technicians see, or when their work reaches Infusion. Decide them before anyone starts logging time: see Choose your company settings.

5. Start working

  • Book a job to a team member from the Scheduler.
  • Have your office staff log time and materials on a real job in the Mobile app, so they know it well before the technicians start. See Log time.
  • Set up your team’s devices, starting with one or two technicians, then the rest of the team.
  • Check it arrived in Infusion - compare a finished job in Tradie with the same job in Infusion.

Every screen, and what it is for

Everything an administrator sets up, grouped by what it affects. Each one says where its information comes from, because that is the question that decides whether you fix something in Tradie or in your accounting system.
