Introduction to Tradie Mobile
The field app your team uses for jobs, time, materials, forms and site safety.
Tradie Mobile is the app your field team carries. It shows each person the jobs booked to them, records the time they spend, the materials they use and the forms they fill in, and sends it all to the office and your accounting system.
What you can do in Tradie Mobile
- See your jobs - the bookings the office has made for you, with the customer, site address, times and job status.
- Record your time - tap Start Work and Stop Work on a job, or enter time on the Time Sheet screen.
- Use materials and raise purchase orders - against a job, or from the home screen.
- Fill in forms - the Health and Safety questionnaire and any forms your office has built in the Report Designer.
- Add notes and photos to a job - for the office and for whoever goes there next.
- Keep working without signal - most of what you do is held on the phone and sent when you are back in coverage.
Which of these you see depends on what your company has switched on. If a button in this guide is missing from your phone, your company has not enabled that feature.
Getting around
Everything starts from the home screen, a list of buttons such as Time Sheet, My Scheduled Jobs and Customers. Tap one to open that screen, and use the back arrow at the top left to return. There is no tab bar along the bottom.
The gear at the top right opens Settings. If you have switched to the Dashboard home screen, it is a menu button instead, and Settings is in that menu.

Signing in for the first time
Step by step: sign in
- Enter your Email and Password and tap Login. The office sets up your account.
- Choose a security PIN and tap Save PIN. You use it to get back into the app, and to sign in when you have no signal.
- If your phone offers it, tap Enable Fingerprint / Face ID, or Skip for now.
After that the app asks for your PIN rather than your password. How often it asks is set by your company.
Themes
Tradie Mobile has two looks, Tradie Classic and Tradie Light, and a Dark Mode that works with either. You choose them in Settings, and the choice applies to your phone only. See Change theme & dark mode.
Offline
Tradie keeps a copy of your jobs and lists on the phone, so you can open jobs, record time and fill in forms without signal. What you do is queued and sent when you reconnect. See Working offline.
