Job detail — your job information
The job screen's Info, Create and Close tabs, and what each one is for.
A job opens on three tabs. Info tells you about the job and is where you start work, Create is where you add materials, notes and photos, and Close is where you stop work and set the job’s status.
The heading shows the job number and the customer. The back arrow returns you to the list you came from. Your company may have renamed the three tabs; they keep the same order.
If your company requires the Health and Safety questionnaire, the Create and Close tabs stay locked until you have completed it. See Health & Safety questionnaire.
Info
The job’s details:
- Date required, Scheduled time, Job No, Job Title, Job Description and Job Status.
- Who the job is assigned to, the Customer Item if there is one, and any service items.
- Contact details. Phone numbers and email addresses are links, so a tap rings or emails them.
- Address/Site, with any special instructions. Tap it to open directions - see View job location.
- Any Allocation Note from the office, the Job Notes, and who else is booked to the job today.
And the buttons you need on arrival:
- Health and Safety Questionnaire, if your company uses it.
- Start Work, which starts your time on the job. See Log time on a job.
- Any forms placed on this tab, under Job Checklists/forms.
- Show Transactions, which lists the materials and time already recorded on the job.
Your company decides which of these details you see, so some jobs show fewer.
Create
Everything you add to the job while you work:
- Create Purchase Order and Add Stock Item - materials and orders against this job. See Add materials.
- Any forms placed here, under Checklists.
- Work/Materials Notes - type in the New work note box and tap Add Work Note. Notes are added, never edited, and appear under Job Notes on the Info tab.
- Image Attachments - photos you take or choose. See Add photos to a job.
- Files the office attached to the job. See Open a file attached to the job.
Close
What you need before you leave:
- The Stop Work Check List - things your company wants you to have done.
- Any forms placed on this tab.
- Stop Work, while your time on this job is running.
- Job Status, to change the job’s status. Some statuses ask you for a reason.
- Load Current Jobs - other open jobs at the same site.
- Past Checklists - any unfinished drafts for this job are listed first, then Load Past Checklists fetches the forms filled in on earlier visits, with Copy as New Draft to start from one. See Saving a form as a draft.
Some companies also show Rebook Job here, and gas certificate buttons for people with the gas fitter or certifier role.
Offline
A job you have already opened stays available without signal. Notes, status changes and forms are held on the phone and sent when you reconnect. See Working offline.
Something looks wrong?
- A detail is missing or out of date. It comes from the job in the office. Ask them to update it; your phone picks up the change when the list next updates.
- The Create or Close tab will not open. Complete the Health and Safety questionnaire on the Info tab first.
- There is no Start Work button. You may already be working on another job. Stop work there first.
