Overview
Yes No asks a question with two answers, Yes and No, and optionally a third, N/A. It is the workhorse of inspection checklists.
Step by step: add a Yes/No question
- Select the section it belongs in.
- Click Yes No under + Add Fields.
- Type the question in Heading, phrased so Yes and No make sense - “Is the RCD tested?”.
- Tick Allow an N/A option if the question will not always apply.
Its own setting
- Allow an N/A option (adds a third choice alongside Yes/No) - for checks that do not apply on every job.
It also has the settings most fields share.
On the phone and the report
The phone shows Yes and No (and N/A) to tap. The report prints the answer as text. In a Table Section or Data Table, Show Yes/No as tick/cross symbols under the section’s Table Styling prints ✓ and ✗ instead.
Follow-up questions
A Yes/No is the most common parent for a child field - a “What is wrong?” box that appears only when the answer is No.
Yes/No or CheckBox?
- Yes No records an answer either way, so you can tell “No” from “not answered”.
- CheckBox is a single tick: ticked or not. Use it for confirmations such as “I have read the method statement”.
