Copy, export and reuse forms
Start a form from a copy, a file or a Word document, and share styling with themes.
There are no built-in templates. To reuse work, copy an existing form, export it to a file and import it elsewhere, or build a draft from a Word document. Themes carry styling from form to form.
Copy a form
Step by step: copy a form
- Open the form with Open Report.
- Click Save As / Duplicate.
- Type the new name - it suggests the old name with ” - Copy” - and click Save As.
The copy is a separate form. Changing it does not change the original. Check its Availability before your team uses it.
Export and import a form
Open Report lists every form with where it is available. Each row has Export to file, which downloads the form as a file, and Delete form.
To bring an exported form in - from another company you manage, say - click Import at the bottom of Open Report and choose the file.
Build a form from a Word document
Import Document turns an existing Word form into a draft. Drop a .docx file on it, or browse to one - Word documents only. The wizard then goes through the document a section at a time, suggesting a field for each question; Accept all suggestions takes them all at once. Finish with Review & Finish, then check the draft and save it.
Themes
A theme is a saved set of styles - fonts, colours, heading underlines - you can apply to any form or section.
- Themes in Form Actions lists them. Add Theme makes one, the star sets the default for new forms, and Edit field values changes a theme’s settings.
- The icon beside Themes - Extract to theme - saves the current form’s styling as a theme.
- Apply theme to this form (or to this section) in Settings uses one.
