Image Upload fields
Ask for a photo on the phone - one per field - and print it on the report.
Image Upload asks the technician for a photo - taken there and then, or chosen from the phone. Each field holds one image. The photo prints on the report under the field’s heading.
Step by step: ask for a photo
- Select the section it belongs in.
- Click Image Upload under + Add Fields.
- Say what to photograph in Heading - “Photo of the meter board”.
- Tick Is Mandatory field if the form must not save without it.
Its settings
Image Upload has no settings of its own beyond the settings most fields share.
On the phone
The phone shows two buttons:
- Take Photo - opens the camera. On a phone or tablet only; a desktop browser has no camera button, just the picker below.
- Choose Image - picks one photo already on the phone.
Only images are accepted. The photo is resized to your company’s image quality before it is saved; originals up to 50 MB are accepted.
Take Photo is a separate button because it has to be. On recent Android, a picker that asks for any image opens the system Photo Picker, which shows the gallery and offers no camera at all - so a technician given one button could only choose a photo already taken, never take a new one. The two buttons are the fix, and the camera is the first of them.
One image per field
Each Image Upload holds a single photo. For before-and-after shots, add two fields with headings saying which is which. For a photo per item - each appliance, each room - put the Image Upload in a Data table, so each row gets its own.
Photos the technician does not take
To put a fixed picture on every form - a logo, a diagram - use Display Image instead.
