Overview

Tasks are the things you have promised to do but which are not leads yet - visit a customer, chase an invoice, ring someone back. Each one has a due date and time, so the list tells you what is late and what is coming.

The Tasks list

Tasks in the nav shows your list grouped by when each one is due: Overdue first, then Today, Tomorrow, then a heading per date. Columns are Task, Customer, Assigned To, Repeats and Status.

Filter by status with the pills along the top - All, Pending, In Progress, Waiting and Done - and by who a task belongs to with the assignee dropdown, which defaults to All assignees.

Statuses

StatusUse it for
PendingNot started. This is where a new task lands.
In ProgressBeing worked on now.
WaitingBlocked on somebody else.
DoneFinished. Done tasks stop chasing you.

Repeats

A task can repeat every so many days, weeks or months. When a repeating task falls due, Tradie creates the next one automatically, carrying the title, note, customer, item and assignee across.

The schedule is the schedule: the next occurrence appears whether or not you marked the current one Done, and marking one done early does not bring the next one forward. Switching Repeat off stops future occurrences without touching the ones already created.

When a task goes overdue

If a task passes its due date and time and is not Done, its assignee gets a push notification once - a nudge that it slipped, not a running alarm. There are no reminders before the due time; the list itself, with its Overdue and Today groupings, is what shows you the week.

Each occurrence of a repeating task gets its own overdue nudge.

Tasks in the Scheduler

Dispatchers see sales tasks on the calendar alongside bookings, and can create one for a sales person from the hamburger menu’s New Sales Task. A dispatcher sees every sales person’s tasks, so the office can spread work around rather than only seeing their own.

Both the calendar layer and the menu entry are visible only to schedulers who are administrators or who have Sales access.
